The Richardson Boat Company developed a process for producing molded plywood hulls during World War 2. This type of construction was reportedly used to produce lightweight, strong hulls first for the military and after the war for production boats. Unfotuntely the endeavor failed due to rapid deterioration of the laminated wood. Very few of these boats survive today. The one shown here belonged to George Carvell and Cindy Scheibe. They are delivering the entire Ithaca High School Jazz Band for a performance at the RBOA Annual Rendezvous at Treman Marine Park in Ithaca, NY in the summer of 1987.
